EDISON, NJ - Four members of the Northampton Softball team have been named to the All Region Team, according to a release from the Region XIX Softball Committee.
Sierra Flurer (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) earned First Team Honors,
Darion Jacoby (Palmerton, PA/Palmerton ) was named Second Team and
Erin Happel (Bangor, PA/Bangor ) and
Miranda Youngkin (Easton, PA/Easton) were Third Team selections.
Flurer, who earned First Team honors as a shortstop, is currently batting .418 with a team-high 12 doubles and 3 homeruns. Jacoby, who was an outfield selection on the Second Team, has a .432 batting average, with 11 doubles and 27 stolen bases.
Happel, who was named First Team All Conference earlier this week, was named Third Team All Region as a pitcher. She is currently 8-9 overall with a 4.61 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 101.2 innings of work. Happel is also batting .427 with 11 doubles.
Rounding out the Northampton selections is
Miranda Youngkin (Easton, PA/Easton), who was named to the Third Team as the designated player. Youngkin is batting .452 with a team-high 35 stolen bases.
The Spartans, 16-16 overall, are seeded 5th and will travel to Lehigh Carbon Community College to face the #4 Cougars in a best of three series, which will begin on Wednesday at 3:30pm.
