JENKINTOWN, Pa. - Six different Spartans scored goals as the Northampton Women's Soccer team downed Manor College, 10-2, in Region XIX competition on Tuesday afternoon at Blue Jay Field.
Abby Dempsey (Bangor, PA/Faith Christian ) had 3 goals and 3 assists and
Amanda Sroka (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) added 2 goals and an assist as the Spartans jumped out to a 7-1 halftime advantage and cruised to the 8 goal victory. "We played good soccer today," remarked Head Coach
Scott Cullen, "we were able to get a lot of girls involved and move some people around."
Lauren Bayda (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) added 2 goals,
Mikayla Garzillo (Bangor, PA/Bangor) had a goal and 2 assists,
Kelsie Smith (Bangor, PA/Bangor) 1 goal, 1 assist,
Jadelyn Rodriguez (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) 1 goal,
Jessica Trout (Bangor, PA/Faith Christian ) 1 assist,
Kristen McKenna (Easton, PA/Easton) 1 assist and
Alexis McKenna (Easton, PA /Easton ) 1 assist to round out the scoresheet for the Spartans, who outshot the Blue Jays 34 to 7.
Melissa Schnappauf (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) recorded 5 saves as the Spartans improved to 4-0-1 on the season.
Manor falls to 0-1-0.
Northampton returns home on Thursday to face Lackawanna College at 3:30pm.
