BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team finished off the regular season with a 3-0 sweep of the County College of Morris on Tuesday evening at the Spartan Center.
The Spartans topped the Division II Titans 25-19, 25-9, 25-7 on sophomore night as
Bridget Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ),
Sarah DiGrazia (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) and
Samantha Hatfield (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley), playing in their final regular season match at home, combined for 22 kills on the night.
Madelyn Deloglos (Northampton, PA/Northampton ) recorded 8 kills,
Savanna Jordan (Bath, PA /Bethlehem Catholic) had 22 assists,
Abby Orth (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) notched 8 aces and 7 digs and Crimi added 15 digs to lead the Spartans.
"Nice ending to the regular season," remarked Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "I think we are ready for the postseason, though I have to say that this is the most parity I have seen in the Region in years ... I think there are 5 or 6 teams with a legitimate shot to earn one of the two bids from our Region."
The win puts Northampton at 13-5 overall, while Morris falls to 2-9.
The Spartans will find out their seed on Wednesday for the upcoming Region XIX Tournament. Projections have the Spartans hosting a first round match on Saturday October 20th.
