Women's Soccer Remains In Playoff Contention with Victory Over LCCC

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's soccer team kept their playoff hopes alive with a 4-2 victory over Lehigh Carbon on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field.  The Spartans, now 5-6-0 overall, need to go 2-1 in their final three games to secure a playoff berth in the Region XIX Division III Tournament.

Hannah Seltzer (Reading, PA/Schuylkill Valley) scored 2 goals, and Hailey Jordan (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) and Kristen McKenna (Easton, PA/Easton) each tallied one goal, as the Spartans jumped out to a 3-1 halftime lead and cruised to the 4-2 win.

Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA/Bangor) recorded 10 saves to earn the victory in goal.

"Good overall win today," stated Head Coach Erik Daly, "everyone on the team contributed today ... if we can stay focused and healthy, I think we have a great chance to make the postseason."

Seltzer's 2 goals give her 15 for the season, tied for the second most in a season in Northampton women's soccer history.

The Spartans are now off until October 9th when they travel to Bucks County Community College to face the Centurions.

LCCC falls to 0-5-0 with the loss.
