ROCHESTER, MN - The Northampton women's volleyball team dropped their opening two matches of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament on Thursday, falling 3-0 to #6 Lorain County Community College (OH) and 3-1 to #10 Nassau Community College (NY).
The Spartans, making their 5th appearance at the national tournament in 7 years, never got on track vs. Lorain in their opening match, falling 11-25, 14-25, 13-25.
Sarah DiGrazia (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) had 5 kills,
Caisey Kroschwitz (Bath, PA /Bethlehem Catholic) recorded 17 digs and
Abby Orth (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) finished with 7 assists and 7 digs for Northampton.
In their second match vs. the Lions of Nassau, the 11th seeded Spartans fell 14-25, 16-25, 25-22, 13-25.
Madelyn Deloglos (Northampton, PA/Northampton ) recorded 10 kills and
Sarah DiGrazia (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) added 9, while
Shaelyn Lopez (Long Pond, PA/Pocono Mt. West ) paced the Spartans with 17 assists.
Caisey Kroschwitz (Bath, PA /Bethlehem Catholic) had 13 digs,
Abby Orth (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) 15 and
Samantha Hatfield (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) 14.
Northampton, now 15-7, will face 12th seeded Harrisburg Area Community College on Friday at 12pm central time.
