BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday, falling to NJCAA Division II member County College of Morris, 11-1 and 11-0 at Spartan Field.
The Spartans struggled to muster much offense on Saturday, as
Sydney Wright (Milford, DE/Sussex Tech (DE)) led the charge in game one with a 1 for 3 effort with a run scored, while
Sarah Sampson (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) was credited with an RBI.
Northampton was held without a hit in game two, as Morris earned the shutout win.
"Defensively we are improving," remarked Head Coach
Jen Denaro, "I am happy with the effort the girls are giving, we just need to stay positive and keep trying to win each inning."
The sweep drops Northampton to 0-10 overall, while Morris improves to 21-6.
The Spartans are slated to host Sussex County Community College on Monday at 4pm.
