BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Softball team dropped a doubleheader to NJCAA Division II Lackawanna College on Tuesday afternoon, falling 10-2 in game one and 20-1 in game two.
In game one,
Kailee Dube (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley ) went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to pace the offense, while
Sydney Wright (Milford, DE/Sussex Tech (DE)) was 2 for 3, and
Ethel Asamel (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive (NJ)) went 1 for 2.
Emily Petrat (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom ) made a diving catch in right field to save two runs, while
Laura Sweger (Elizabethville, PA/Upper Dauphin) took the loss on the mound, striking out 3 Falcons.
In game two, Wright picked up her 3rd hit of the day, while
Madison Ensley (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) finished 1 for 2 with a double and 3 putouts in centerfield.
Sarah Sampson (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) led the Spartans with 2 hits, finishing 2 for 2.
The Spartans, now 0-14 overall, travel to nationally-ranked RCGC on Saturday before hosting Ocean County College on Sunday.
Lackawanna improves to 27-13.
