BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton women's soccer team used 5 second half goals to pull away from a 3-2 halftime advantage and earn an 8-2 victory over Montgomery County Community College on Thursday afternoon.
Hannah Seltzer (Reading, PA/Schuylkill Valley) got the Spartans on the board first, scoring just 4 minutes into the contest, but the Mustangs were able to tie the game just 6 minutes later. Seltzer responded with her 2nd goal of the game 15 minutes into the game to give Northampton a 2-1 advantage, which they held until 6 minutes remained in the half when Montgomery was able to find the back of the net and tie the score.
Megan McCarty (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) then put the Spartans back in front just before halftime off an assist from Seltzer to give Northampton the 3-2 lead.
The second half was all Northampton as
Hailey Jordan (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) scored just two minutes into the second stanza off an assist from Seltzer to take a 4-2 lead. Jordan scored her 2nd goal of the afternoon 10 minutes later off an assist from
Victoria Collier (Bangor, PA/Bangor).
McCarty scored her 2nd goal of the day with 28 minutes remaining in the game, with the assist from Seltzer, putting Northampton up 6-2.
Seltzer completed the hat-trick with 7 minutes remaining, with the assist going to
Kaille White (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)). White finished the scoring on a direct kick with 3 minutes left in the contest to make the final 8-2.
Hannah Seltzer (Reading, PA/Schuylkill Valley) finished with 3 goals and 3 assists, while
Hailey Jordan (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) and
Megan McCarty (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) each netted 2 goals each.

Aliyah Flora (Bethlehem, PA/Nazareth) recorded 7 saves to earn the win in goal, as Northampton improved to 3-2-0 overall.

Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they host Ocean County College at 11:00am in the first half of a women's / men's doubleheader at Spartan Field.
