BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Depth once again proved to be a deciding factor for the women's soccer team, as Coach Daly's troops were forced to play with only 11 players on Saturday, falling to Ocean, 8-2.
"I really like our core group," remarked Daly, "I think we could compete with a number of teams in the region with the talent we have, we simply do not have the depth to compete for 90 minutes."
Hannah Seltzer (Reading, PA/Schuylkill Valley) scored her 7th goal of the season and notched her 4th assist, while
Kristen McKenna (Easton, PA/Easton) tallied Northampton's other goal.
Megan McCarty (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) made 6 saves in goal, replacing injured starter
Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA/Bangor).
The loss drops Northampton to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in Region XIX, while Ocean improves to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in Region XIX.
The Spartans are off until September 20th when they travel to nationally-ranked RCGC to face the Roadrunners.
