MIDDLETOWN, NJ - 7th ranked Brookdale Community College remained undefeated, downing Northampton, 9-0, on Saturday in women's soccer action.
The Jersey Blues simply had too much depth for the short-handed Spartans, who were forced to play with only 11 players in uniform. "Tough day to be short-handed," quipped Head Coach
Erik Daly, "honestly, they are very good and very well-coached ... there is a reason they are ranked 7th in the country. That being said, I thought the girls gave a great effort and played has hard as they could for 90 minutes."
Goalkeeper
Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA/Bangor) made 18 saves, some of the spectacular variety, to lead the Spartans. "Montana was unbelievable today," remarked Daly, "she made some tremendous saves."
The Spartans fall to 4-6-0 overall, while Brookdale improves to 10-0-0.
Northampton is back in action on Tuesday when they host Lehigh Carbon at 3:30pm.
