SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The Northampton women's soccer team improved to 2-0-0 on the season with a 1-0 victory over Lehigh Carbon on Thursday evening at Cougar Field. 

After playing to a scoreless tie in the first half, Megan McCarty (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) scored the game's only goal, unassisted, in the 72nd minute to give Northampton the victory. 

Freshman goalkeeper Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA/Bangor) earned her first collegiate shutout, making 2 saves. 

The Spartans, 2-0-0, host Middlesex County College on Saturday at 11:00am in the first half of a women's / men's doubleheader. 

Lehigh Carbon falls to 0-2-0.
