BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Battling the elements and Manor College, the Northampton women's soccer team overcame a slow start to down the Blue Jays, 10-0, on Thursday afternoon at Spartan Field.
Grace Jacoby (East Stroudsburg, PA /East Stroudsburg North ) got the Spartans on the board just 3:30 into the game, finding the back of the net off an assist from
Angelique Herrera (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl).

The score remained 1-0 until 4 minutes before halftime when Herrera scored, with the assist credited to
Hannah Seltzer (Reading, PA /Schuylkill Valley), to give the Spartans a 2-0 halftime lead.
Northampton broke things open the second half, as Seltzer scored her school-record 20th goal of the season 13 minutes into the second stanza to give the Spartans a 3-0 lead.
Victoria Collier (Bangor, PA /Bangor ) then scored two consecutive goals, with Herrera assisting on both, followed by a goal from
Amy Cooper (Bangor, PA /Faith Christian ) assisted by Herrera and the Spartans lead 6-0 with 18 minutes left to play.

Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA /Bangor ) and Cooper then each scored within 3 minutes of each other to make the score 9-0 and Cooper finished things off with 3 minutes remaining, with
Zulemy Rosario (Allentown, PA /William Allen ) getting the assist.
Collier and Cooper each finished with 3 goals, while Herrera, Seltzer, Cassaro and Jacoby each added one.
Herrera finished with a school record 5 assists, breaking the record of 4, held by Abby Dempsey (9/12/2017 vs. Manor).
Herrera now owns the single game (5), season (14) and career (15) assists record for Northampton.
Cassaro and
Christine Farrell (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury ) split time between the pipes, notching Northampton's 8th shutout of the season.
The win moves Northampton to 9-3-0 overall, 8-2-0 in Region XIX and 8-0-0 in the EPAC.
The 9 wins is a school record for the 6th year Spartan program, eclipsing the 8 victories back in the 2017 season (8-6-1).
Manor falls to 0-10-0 overall, 0-6-0 in Region XIX and 0-6-0 in conference play.
The Spartans finish the regular season on Monday when they host Harrisburg at 3:30pm
