MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton baseball team dropped both of their contests on Monday at the Ripken Experience, falling to Mid Michigan 9-6 and the College of DuPage 15-3.
Game One vs. MID MICHIGAN (Lost 6-9)
The Spartans fell behind 3-0 after one inning and never were able to grab the lead in falling 9-6 to Mid Michigan College on Monday.
Jeffrey Sabater (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) finished 2 for 2 with 2 walks with a run scored and a RBI and
Max Rivas (Toms River, NJ/Toms River - South (NJ)) also had 2 hits for the Spartans.
Ryan Mottley (Bloomsbury, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) took the loss in relief, with 2.2 innings of work, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2.
Game Two vs. COLLEGE OF DUPAGE (Lost 3-15)
The Spartans never got on track in game two, falling behind 5-1 after two innings and then giving up 9 runs in the 4th in a 15-3 loss to the College of DuPage in game two on Monday.
Northampton only managed 3 hits in the loss, with
Isaiah Lockette (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) and
Stephen McMillan (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks - South) each hitting doubles and Lockette tallying 2 RBI.
Colby Butczynski (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke) took the loss, allowing 11 runs (6 earned) on 7 hits in 3.1 innings of work.
The Spartans, now 2-2 on the season, return to action on Tuesday when they face Danville Area Community College and Penn State Dubois.
