EDISON, NJ - The 9th ranked Northampton Baseball team used a 13-run 4th inning to put their game vs. Middlesex College out of reach, as the Spartans triumphed 15-3 on Tuesday at Colt Park.
Jeffrey Sabater (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) finished 4 for 6 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored,
Luke Spencer (Dallas, PA/Lake-Lehman) was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI,
Josh Herman (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and
Max Rivas (Toms River, NJ/Toms River - South (NJ)) finished 2 for 3 with one RBI and 3 runs scored to lead the Spartan offense.
Ashton Johnson (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) picked up the win to improve to 5-2, throwing 3 innings of 2 hit ball, allowing 1 run and striking out 1.
Francesco Greco (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon (CT)),
Ethan Ferraro (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area) and
Justin Black (Bethlehem, PA/Elizabethtown Area ) combined to finish the final 4 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 1 hit with 2 strikeouts.
The win moves Northampton to 21-4 overall and 2-0 in Region 19.
Middlesex falls to 23-14 overall and 9-10 in the Region with the loss.
The Spartans continue on their roadtrip on Wednesday as they visit #1 ranked RCSJ-Gloucester for a single 9-inning game at 3:30pm.
