GARDEN CITY, NY - The Northampton Baseball team hit the road on Saturday, after their thrilling 7-6 victory on Friday afternoon over Sussex, traveling to face Nassau Community College of Region 15.
Game One - Nassau 4 | Northampton 0
Nassau pitcher James Capozzi threw a complete game shutout, allowing only 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3 as the Lions downed Northampton 4-0 in the opener.

Garrett Garofalo (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) had the 3 hits for Northampton, with

Ashton Johnson (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) pitched well enough to get the win, allowing 4 runs (3 earned), striking out 5 and walking none, but the Spartan offense could not manufacture any run support.
Game Two - Northampton 8 | Nassau 0
The Spartans turned the tide on the Lions in game two, as
Ryan Gordon (New Cumberland, PA/Red Land) threw a complete game shutout, allowing just 4 hits, striking out 10 and walking just 1, as the Spartans prevailed 8-0.
Isaiah Lockette (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) led the offense with a 2 for 3 performance, including a 2-run homerun.
Jeffrey Sabater (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and a walk and
Max Rivas (Toms River, NJ/Toms River - South (NJ)) was 2 for 2 with a run scored.
The Spartans broke open a scoreless tie with 3 runs in the 3rd inning and then added at least one run in the remaining 4 innings to secure the win.
The Spartans, who saw their 6-game winning streak come to an end with the loss in game one, move to 17-4 with the split.
Nassau moves to 5-5 overall.
The Spartans are scheduled to be on the road again on Sunday, traveling to Lincroft, NJ to face Brookdale Community College in a doubleheader set for noon.
