BETHLEHEM, Pa. - 5th ranked Middlesex County College used their superior quickness and rebounding to down 4th seeded Northampton, 79-69, on Monday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center in quarterfinal action of the Region XIX Women's Basketball Tournament.

Middlesex countered every Northampton run, led by Quorea Pearyer who scored 28 points, including 18 in the second half.

"Every run we made, they had an answer," lamented Head Coach Art Wolfe, "we never could get over the hump, they continued to hit big shots and grab timely rebounds ... they are a very talented team."

Brianna Morales led Northampton with 24 points, while Lauren Thompson added 21 and Brianna Clymer chipped in with 10.

Northampton finishes the season with a record of 18-6, while Middlesex improves to 19-8.  The Colts will face #1 Brookdale on February 27th in the Region XIX semi-finals.
