EDISON, NJ - Freshman guard
Dom Moser (Easton, PA/Easton ) scored 43 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had 4 steals to lead Northampton to a crucial 77-62 victory over Middlesex County College on Saturday afternoon at the Colt Center.
Middlesex battled back from a 43-28 second half deficit to cut the margin to 5 on an offensive rebound and put back, but Moser, who scored 31 of Northampton's 40 second half points, took control of the game down the stretch.
Katie Alvarez (Allentown, PA /Dieruff) added 11 points for the undermanned Spartans, who played with only six players due to injuries and sickness.
"This was just a huge win for us," remarked Head Coach
Tara Belfield, "this was a statement game ... Middlesex has been on top of the Region all year and we have been a little up and down since break, so I thought it was going to be very important for us to come out and play well today, especially given that it was on the road."
Northampton finishes the regular season with an overall record of 17-5 and 13-3 in Region XIX.
Middlesex falls to 19-6 overall and 15-3 in Region XIX with one game remaining vs. Brookdale on February 21st.
