SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The Northampton softball team dropped a non-conference matchup vs. cross-town rival Lehigh Carbon, falling 3-0 on Thursday afternoon at Cougar Field.
Tied 0-0 entering the bottom of the 6th inning, the Cougars pushed 3 runs across the plate to take a 3-0 lead and kept the Spartans scoreless in the top of the 7th to earn the victory.
Regina Bangcoro (Easton, PA /Easton) was 2 for 3 and Makayla Sutton was 1 for 3, as Northampton only managed 3 hits in the game.
Siera Klingle (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) took the loss in the circle, throwing 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, striking out 9 and walking 2.
The Spartans, now 1-8 overall, are scheduled to host Camden County College on Saturday at 12pm.
