Emily Buckley (Koehler) - Women's Volleyball (2013-15)
Widely regarded as one of the best volleyball players to ever to play for the Spartans. Emily leads the program in career kills (724). She also holds the 3rd spot for career aces (160) and blocks (105). Emily also holds many single season records for Northampton such as the 2nd (403) and 5th (321) most kills in a single season. She also has the 3rd (107) most aces and 6th (53) most blocks in a single season.
During Emily's freshman campaign in 2013, the Spartans went 35-1, capturing the EPAC Championship, Region 19 Championship and NJCAA District Championship. The Spartans then traveled to Minnesota where they made a solid run in the NJCAA National Tournament, finishing in 5th place. Emily's contributions were duly rewarded with postseason accolades, as she was tabbed Region 19 Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference and All-Region and was named an NJCAA All-American.
In 2014, the Spartans went 37-2, winning EPAC and Region 19 titles, but falling short of the NJCAA National Tournament with a loss in the NJCAA District Championship match in North Carolina. The postseason accolades still rolled in for Emily, as she was named Region 19 and EPAC Player of the Year, along with being named to both the Region and Conference first teams. Emily is the only Spartan to receive back-to-back Region 19 Player of the Year awards in program history.
After Northampton, Emily moved on to play at Chestnut Hill College where she still found success on the court. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, then found herself back at Northampton as the assistant volleyball coach. Now working for a home care agency, Emily is married to Jack Buckley and has a daughter, Nellie.
