A member of the 1977-78 championship baseball squad, and a two-time All Conference centerfielder during his time at NCC, Frank Marakovits was described by his college head coach, Bill Bearse, as the best overall player he ever coached.


Marakovits was the career record holder at NCC for years in walks, stolen bases and runs scored.
 
A complete all-around player, Marakovits went on to earn a baseball scholarship at the University of Wyoming where he earned a degree in business management.
 
Marakovits, who was featured in Sports Illustrated “Faces in the Crowd” section in September 1979, was a fixture in local amateur baseball leagues, as evidenced by a .359 career batting average in 14 seasons of play in the Blue Mountain League, including the league batting titles in 1979 and 1982. 
 
A ten-year member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, Marakovits served as an Assistant at NCC from 1982 thru 1984 and as an Assistant at Pen Argyl High School from 2004 to 2007.
 
Frank resides in Roseto, PA with his wife Marie and has three children; Megan, Dante and Mary Elizabeth.
