A standout baseball player with a team first attitude, Joey Bamford helped lay the foundation for the Northampton baseball program as a regional and national contender following their transition to the National Junior College Athletic Assocication (NJCAA).

Bamford helped guide the team to their first ever national ranking in 2011 – ranked as high as 7th in the NJCAA national poll – and a runner-up finish in the Region XIX Final Four Tournament.

A recruited shortstop, Bamford made the transition to the outfield, where he was recognized as a 2nd-Team All-Region XIX selection in both 2010 and 2011 – finishing 3rd in the nation in batting with a .500 average in 2010 – and leading the team to back to back Final Four appearances (2010 and 2011).  Bamford collected an amazing 122 hits during his time as a Spartan - batting .413 in 2011.

For his efforts, Bamford was awarded a baseball scholarship to NCAA Division I – Monmouth University, where he patrolled the outfield for the Monarchs – batting .307 with 55 hits in 2013 and .308 with 56 hits in 2014.

A graduate of Warren Hills High School in Washington, NJ – Bamford also played two years of basketball for the Spartans – averaging 11.9ppg in 2009-10 and 8.6ppg in 2010-11.
