A two-sport athlete during his time at Northampton, Skip Person made his mark on the diamond, leading the Spartans to a 13-2 record and their first-ever EPCC Championship in 1973.Â

Person, a right-handed pitcher, finished the 1973 season with a 6-1 record, including a 1.54 ERA and striking out 60 in 49 2/3 innings of work. Person was selected to the EPCC All-Conference team for his efforts.

Person, who went 2-0 on the mound during his freshman campaign, also was a member of the men’s basketball team.

After graduating from NCC Person accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Wyoming for the 1974 and 1975 seasons, where he posted a 12-10 record over the two seasons and was named to the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) All-Academic team in 1975.

Person, who returned to NCC as a pitching coach for the 1978 season with Hall of Famer Bill Bearse, Â pitched numerous seasons in the Blue Mountain League, finishing with a career record of 36-24.

Person currently resides in Phillipsburg, NJ with wife Rosemarie and daughters Aubrey and Ashley.
